Zolla (Carson) and Ralph Norman

        Ralph Eugene Norman, was born on February 25, 1906, in Clarke County, Iowa, son of Henry and Kittie (Alford) Norman.  Ralph attended Clarke County schools and graduated at Santa Paula, California.  He married Zolla Marie Carson, daughter of Oscar Allen and Mary Lillian (Marquis) Carson on March 4, 1929, at Chariton.    Zolla was born October 23, 1909.
         They farmed in the Woodburn area and Ralph worked for the assessor’s office.  He was a member of Unity Lodge #212, A.F. and A.M. at Woodburn.  They were members of the Woodburn Christian Church.  Zolla belonged to the Woodburn Eastern Star, of which she was a member for over 50 years.  The children all attended the Woodburn Christian Church and graduated from Woodburn High School, except for Anita who graduated from Osceola after the Woodburn High School closed.
            Ralph died on December 17, 1988.  Zolla stayed on the farm until July, 1996, and passed away on June 26, 1999, in Osceola.    They are buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola.    Their children:  Marion [Hayworth], Marjorie Marie [Harlan], Roberta Louise [Hayworth], Robert and Anita Kay [Randol].
