Here they raised their two sons, Roger and Monty.  The boys attended country schools until finishing eighth grade.  In March, 1961, after retiring, Chuck and Bernice moved to Osceola.   They tired of Osceola and in 1967 moved back near Woodburn to the Ray Martin farm on Highway 34 in Section 13 of Jackson Township. Bernice passed away on September 27, 1981, at Des Moines, Iowa.  Chuck worked on the farm with his son, Roger, until his death on January 22, 1989, at Osceola, Iowa.
