Charles, Carrie (Stearns), John, Harold and Sandra Edgerton

          Harold Charles Edgerton was born May 22, 1917, the son of Author James and Esther May (Cook) Edgerton.  He married Carrie Elizabeth Stearns, daughter of John Crockford and Cora Belle (Herndon) Stearns, on October 19, 1936.  Carrie was born on July 30, 1917, in Woodburn.

          They were members of the Woodburn Christian Church, where Carrie served as pianist for many years.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star at Woodburn.  Harold did trucking and worked at a grain elevator in Chariton in later years.  Many people remember their home, the white house on the left as you turn to go up to the Woodburn Cemetery.   Harold passed away on January 16, 1987, at Osceola, Iowa.  Carrie died on May 19, 2005.   They are buried at the Woodburn Cemetery.  Their children:  Earnest Charles, John Author, and Sandra Sue.
